In one of the most cathartic cases of getting the last laugh, the Chiefs trolled the Raiders into another dimension after blowing them out 48-9 on Sunday.
It wasn’t enough to simply beat the Raiders. It wasn’t enough to blow the Raiders out. Kansas City needed to ensure their message came through loud and clear after Sunday’s show of strength against their division rivals.
The Chiefs polished off the season sweep of the Raiders with a 48-9 victory (which was a scorigami, if you’re into that sort of thing), but the hits kept coming after the clock hit all zeros.
Last year the Raiders came into Kansas City and stunned the Chiefs, beating them 40-32. After the game, Las Vegas boarded its team bus and did a victory lap around the Arrowhead parking lot, something that came back to bite them a few weeks later when the Chiefs marched into Nevada and evened the score with a win of their own.
But that victory lap is something that the Chiefs didn’t stop thinking about, and the loose end was officially tied up on Sunday.
Blowing out the Raiders was simply the knife in the heart of Raiders Nation, the twist came after the game was over. As players left the field, the PA system at Arrowhead Stadium played ‘Wheels On The Bus’ to complete the embarrassment.
The Chiefs are playing “the wheels on the bus go round and round.” On the PA system as the Raiders leave the field.

It’s true, it really happened. Just watch:

Talk about getting the last laugh.
It’s not just that the Chiefs trolled the Raiders, it’s that they were sitting on this for over a year to throw it back at their rivals. That’s more than just a signal at Las Vegas, it’s a message to the entire league that the Chiefs have a Ryan from The Office-style list where they’ve taken names and aren’t going to forget slights.
Las Vegas got their comeuppance, but this entire season for Kansas City has been largely defined by what the so-called ‘haters’ have said about the team. Kicking the Chiefs while they’re down may have been fun, but Sunday was proof of how significantly less fun it is once Patrick Mahomes and company get back up.
