National Signing Day is a time to celebrate the future stars of the sport. Which of this year’s recruits could go on to win the Heisman Trophy?

Before he was a Heisman Trophy winner, Bryce Young was the No. 2 prospect in the class of 2020.

DeVonta Smith was a three-sport athlete ranking No. 62 in the class of 2017. Kyler Murray was a five-star recruit for 2015. Baker Mayfield was a three-star outside the Top 1,000 recruits in 2013.

The next Heisman winner could be lurking somewhere in the class of 2022. Who should already be on the Heisman radar?

National Signing Day: 10 recruits with Heisman Trophy potential

Drew Allar, QB (Penn State)

When you’re 6-foot-4 and have an arm like Josh Allen, you’re going to have a chance to win the Heisman. Five-star quarterback Drew Allar is heading to Penn State, where he’ll have plenty of opportunities in Big Ten play to make an impression after throwing for 4,443 yards and 48 touchdowns during his senior season of high school ball. Adding 415 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground doesn’t hurt.

Raleek Brown, RB (USC)

Five-star Mater Dei running back Raleek Brown just flipped from Oklahoma to USC, following Lincoln Riley to Los Angeles. Riley already has two Heisman winners on his record, just not a running back. Brown has the all-purpose playmaking ability to shine in the offense Riley will bring to USC, where Heisman-winning running backs are the norm.

Emmanuel Henderson, RB (Alabama)

It’s simple. Alabama running backs are Heisman candidates practically from Day 1. Emmanuel Henderson is the latest five-star running back prospect who will look to carry on that tradition with his three-sport athleticism.
