Here are the grades for the Alabama football program’s 2022 recruiting class through Early National Signing Day.

As long as Nick Saban stays in Tuscaloosa, Alabama football fans can rest easy on National Signing Day, knowing their beloved program is in good hands.

There is no coincidence when it comes to Alabama dominating on the football field. The Crimson Tide continue to crush it on the recruiting trails. Even with Saban now in his 70s, he and his staff prioritize winning in the offseason more than most other programs in the country. As long as Alabama continues to recruit at a top-five level, there is no slowing down the Crimson Tide one bit.

Here are the 247Sports Composite rankings for the 2022 cycle and how Alabama fared this year.

Alabama football top 2022 recruit: Jeremiah Alexander: EDGE, Thompson, Alabaster, AL (No. 8 nationally, No. 1 position, No. 1 state)

Jeremiah Alexander headlines another loaded Alabama recruiting class. The five-star from Alabaster is the best player in-state, so him committing to Alabama was a no-brainer. Though it may take some time for him to crack a deep defensive line rotation, Alexander projects as a first-round talent. If he can be half as good as what Will Anderson Jr. has been, then good for Alabama.

Alabama football recruiting strengths and weaknesses for 2022

Alabama did the bulk of its lifting in this cycle right in the middle of its offense. Getting five-star quarterback Ty Simpson and five-star running back Emmanuel Henderson is huge, as is getting a pair of four-star offensive tackles in Tyler Booker and Elijah Pritchett out-of-state. If there is a potential weakness in this class, the Crimson Tide did not land a top-100 defensive back in 2022.

Diamond in the rough for Alabama football: Isaiah Hastings: DL, Clearwater Academy International, Clearwater, FL (No. 312 nationally, No. 33 position, No. 37 state)

Isaiah Hastings checks this box for a few reasons. The four-star moved down from Canada to play his senior season of college ball in Florida. Though clearly a developmental project, no place is better to sharpen one’s skills than in Tuscaloosa. By the time Hastings is a junior or a redshirt sophomore, he could be an absolute disruptor in trenches akin to what Christian Barmore was.

Where does Alabama football rank nationally and in the SEC in recruiting?

As a surprise to absolutely no one, the Crimson Tide not only have the top recruiting class in the SEC, but the No. 1 overall class nationally, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Alabama football 2022 recruiting grade

Anything other than a top-five class nationally would be seen as a massive disappointment for the Crimson Tide. Given that Alabama exits Early Signing Day with the top class in the land, how can anybody give them anything but an exceptional grade for their efforts on the recruiting trails?
