A couple members of the Dallas Cowboys have been hit with fines after an altercation with the Washington Football Team last week.

Two members of the Dallas Cowboys are facing fines after their game against the Washington Football Team on Sunday. La’el Collins, and Exekiel Elliott have both been slapped with fines for unnecessary roughness.

According to a tweet from Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Collins and Elliott are facing identical fines of $10,300 due to “a scrum following a hit on Dak Prescott last week against Washington.”

In the game, Collins ended up being ejected for throwing punches after Prescott was hit in a fairly questionable manner. While the hit was technically legal, many on the Cowboys sideline took umbrage with the timing and the way the hit happened.

Mike McCarthy, the head coach of the Cowboys, defended Collins for going out and defending his quarterback. So it’s safe to say nobody in Dallas is too upset over the actions from Collins or Elliott. If anything, they might be celebrating the way both players stuck their necks out for Prescott.

The fines aren’t that significant and guys like Elliott and Collins wouldn’t even remotely be hurt by having to pay that bill.

But, there’s a chance neither of them will end up paying those fines. It seems like Prescott may step up and cover the cost of the fines for the guys who had his back on the field.

Still, the whole situation should have been avoided. The altercation was completely and totally unnecessary and could have put the Cowboys in a compromising situation as the Washington Football Team attempted to come back against Dallas.

But hey, while the mess wasn’t necessary, there’s something to be said about the fact that the Cowboys have each others’ backs.
