Several teams are dealing with COVID outbreaks over the past week and you can now add the Los Angeles Chargers to the list.

NFL fans across the country have seen just how bad COVID has hit multiple teams and their star players. For the Los Angeles Chargers, they’re now dealing with plenty of adversity themselves following the Week 14 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

On Monday, Chargers beat writer Daniel Popper has reported that Joey Bosa, Austin Ekeler and Corey Linsey have all been placed on the COVID list. If that weren’t enough, Popper’s sources are telling him that even more names are expected to join them. Just brutal.

Joey Bosa is among the Chargers players placed on the COVID list

It goes without saying, but this is concerning news for Los Angeles head coach Brandon Staley. All three guys mentioned above are standout guys and have major roles for the offense and defense.

With Ekeler, he’s been fantastic this year, averaging 4.6 yards per carry. In total, he’s got 789 rushing yards to his name and 10 touchdowns, while adding 558 receiving yards and seven more scores.

Those are the kinds of numbers you’d expect from a player of his caliber. For Bosa, what is there to say other than the man is a total savage in the trenches. He was born to put pressure on quarterbacks. In 2021, Bosa has 9.5 sacks and 43 total tackles. He very well could set a career-high in sacks, as he’s hoping to break his 2017 number of 12.5.

This Sunday, the Chargers are all set to take on the Houston Texans. This COVID update has provided the team with plenty of worry, though. We’ll have to wait and see who else is placed on the COVID list and which guys will have to miss Sunday’s contest.
