Some massive recruiting news has come in for the Alabama Crimson Tide, as Georgia Tech transfer Jahmyr Gibbs has announced his commitment.

After kicking off the 2022 class with a bang during the Early Signing Period, Nick Saban still has some more tricks up his sleeve. Matter of fact, the legendary head coach just hit the transfer portal in a monster way for his newest addition.

On Tuesday afternoon, stud running back Jahmyr Gibbs, a former standout for Georgia Tech, took to Twitter to let everyone know he’ll be Tuscaloosa-bound. Make no mistake about it, this is tremendous news for Alabama, as Gibbs is expected to be eligible to play right away.

Jahmyr Gibbs committing to Alabama is a monster get for Nick Saban

Gibbs was receiving tons of interest across the country, but at the end of the day, he’s decided that playing for Alabama is a chance he simply can’t pass up on. Over his career with Georgia Tech, Gibbs appeared in 19 games, rushing for more than 1,200 yards and posting eight touchdowns.

Gibbs is also great catching the ball out of the backfield, as he recorded 59 receptions for 768 yards and five scores through the air. He’ll look to bring his dynamic ways to Alabama and really make noise in 2022.

This news comes less than a week from the Early Signing Period arriving last Wednesday. Alabama inked 23 players. The bulk of their recruiting class was done then, but adding Gibbs to the mix is of course a monster win for the coaching staff. As things stand, Alabama holds the No. 2 class for 2022, as the team is right behind Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M.

Now, Gibbs will get ready to join his new teammates in Alabama in the near future. Before that, the Crimson Tide will try and win the National Championship for the second consecutive year.
