Look: Utah football helmets for Rose Bowl might be best of all time

The Utah football program punched its first-ever ticket to the Rose Bowl by winning the Pac-12, so you know the Utes pulled out some special helmets.

We’ve already seen Utah football pull out some special uniforms for a big game. For their regular-season clash with Oregon, the Utes paid homage to the U.S.S. Salt Lake City with some truly unique and detail-oriented uniforms. So with Kyle Whittingham’s team now heading to the Rose Bowl for the first time in program history to face Ohio State, you had to figure they’d pull out the stops.

There are special jerseys with a unique font that Utah plans to wear, which were revealed on Tuesday.

However, the Utes also introduced an alternate helmet that features a new logo specifically designed for the Rose Bowl. And it might just be the most beautiful college football helmet that you’ll ever see.

As if the rose running through the alternate logo didn’t already make the helmets look incredible, the Utes added a beautiful touch.

The Utah football program lost two of its players, Ty Jordan and Aaron Lowe, earlier this season in tragedies that cost them both their lives. Both players wore No. 22, which the Utes have paid tribute to in many ways. But this might be the most poignant detail of them all as they put a “22” on one of the petals on the helmet.

Suffice it to say, we might be looking at the greatest college football helmet ever created, from the general aesthetic to the details such as honoring their teammates once more.
