Are you wondering when Best Buy closes on New  Year’s Eve?

We like to think that holidays are often observed in a vacuum but that’s not true. Birthdays’, retirements, belated Christmases, and the like are still going on even as the calendar goes from New Year’s Eve to New Year’s Day. So if you’re out and about on New Year’s Eve looking to get something from Best Buy, it’d help if you knew when they closed.

You’re lucky that Best Buy is open on New Year’s Day but if you’re not getting a quick jump on the proceedings you’re going to be out of luck, as Best Buy will be closed by 6 PM. Some may be open later but don’t expect it. It’d be best to call ahead if you’re unsure.

That said, many will be open until at least 6 PM local time, so if you’re in need of a gift or want to finish returning some things from the holiday season, you have some time. Just not enough.

Will Best Buy be open on New Year’s Day?

If you need to return something to Best Buy, pick something up from Best Buy or just need something that you know they specifically sell, then you may need to push your shopping back until Jan. 1, but will you be in luck on New Year’s Day?

Yes, Best buy will be open on New Year’s Day without fail, so if you need to go there for some specific reason you’re going to be in luck.

What if you need to get a little gadget or gift card from there for a party on New Year’s Eve, however?

Many gas stations and 24-hour pharmacies may be able to help fill a role in an emergency situation. You won’t be able to find a 60” plasma screen TV there, but you may be able to get a $50 gift card to any major retalier.
