With countless speculation that Russell Wilson may be traded this offseason, his latest comments are only going to add more fuel to the fire.

Even with two games left in the regular season, there’s very little for the Seattle Seahawks to play for. At 5-10, this team won’t be in the playoffs and the trade rumors have already started for star signal-caller Russell Wilson.

So, will he be back next season? Fans want him to return, but the feeling is that we really could see Wilson suiting up elsewhere in 2022. Wilson’s latest comments sure make it seem like he knows his time in the Pacific Northwest could be coming to a close too.

Russell Wilson trade rumors will only grow in the coming weeks

That’s a telling quote from Wilson. Yes, he’s hoping this isn’t his last home game with the Seahawks, but the fact that he said he knows this won’t be his last NFL contest really is telling. At the end of the day, Wilson is still under contract. With that said, if a sweet enough deal comes in for John Schneider and the front office, could they turn it down at this point?

It’s been made more than clear this fall and winter that some major changes are needed in Seattle. The offense has looked terrible and Wilson just hasn’t been the same. If the Hawks get a couple of first-rounders for him, it’d of course be something to consider.

Wilson is a Seattle legend, helping bring the city its first ever Super Bowl win. His future is totally up in the air, though, and Sunday’s tilt very well could be his last hurrah at Lumen Field, with the Seahawks getting ready to host the Detroit Lions.
