South Carolina Gamecocks head football coach Shane Beamer called out a media member following the team’s Mayo Bowl victory.

The South Carolina Gamecocks can call themselves the 2021 Mayo Bowl champions after defeating the UNC Tar Heels 38-21. After the game, head coach Shane Beamer was a man of his word, as he allowed 4.5 gallons of mayonnaise to get dumped over his head. Social media was abuzz after this moment, if we are being honest.

Following the “mayo dunk,” Beamer took notice of a media member who was not exactly a fan of it. The Gamecocks head coach then decided to call out this individual for being “miserable” and for incorrectly predicting that the team would win no more than two games in 2021.

The Gamecocks rode to a victory behind two huge performances by running back Kevin Harris and wide receiver Jaheim Bell.

Harris ran the ball 31 times for a total of 182 yards and a touchdown. Bell, on the other hand, caught five passes for 159 yards and two touchdowns. Those two scoring catches came from Dakereon Joyner and Zeb Noland. Speaking of Joyner, he completed all nine of his passes for 160 yards and a touchdown.

Things are only looking up for South Carolina Not only do they have a bowl game victory, but they get to prepare for a 2022 season with former Oklahoma Sooner Spencer Rattler as their startign quarterback. No one is raining on Beamer’s parade.
