Arizona: Ryan Fitzpatrick

Whether you refer to him as “Fitzmagic” or “The Amish Rifle,” Ryan Fitzpatrick is the best quarterback to come out of Arizona. No disrespect to Fitzpatrick, but that tells you the level of NFL quarterbacks who have come out of the state.

There are a lot of names like Max Hall, Rodney Peete, Danny White- you get the point, there were a lot of bad quarterbacks to come from Arizona. All love to the beautiful-bearded journeyman, though. He’s still going strong today, even while missing the 2021 season with a hip injury. We’ll see what 2022 has in store for the .

Arkansas: Nick Mullens

No, this isn’t a bit. The state of Arkansas is just really bad at producing good quarterbacks.

The names include Ryan Mallett, Brandon Allen, Mike Cherry, and Dave Mays. Credit to Mullens, though, because he has put together quality starts throughout his career, most notably for the 49ers. He is a solid backup and a reliable hand if a team’s starter goes down. He was called upon for the Browns against the Raiders earlier this season, and almost pulled off the upset over Las Vegas. Nothing against Mullens, but this speaks to the lack of star power from Arkansas.
