The college football world is reacting after the Notre Dame Fighting Irish blew a huge lead in the Fiesta Bowl against the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Well, the Fiesta Bowl started off fun for Marcus Freeman and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Unfortunately for Freeman, the Fighting Irish, and their fans, the Fiesta Bowl ended up being a party for the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Notre Dame got off to a great start as the Fighting Irish scored two touchdowns early and put some pressure on Oklahoma State. With the score at 14-7 at the end of the first quarter, and then 28-7 with a little over a minute left in the first half, it seemed like Notre Dame would run away with the Fiesta Bowl and embarrass Mike Gundy’s team.
However, that wasn’t the case. Oklahoma State scored a quick touchdown before halftime to cut Notre Dame’s lead to 28-14 and then came roaring out in the second half. With 17 points scored in the third quarter, Oklahoma State carried a 31-28 lead into the final 15 minutes of the game.
The Cowboys ended up coming out on top, winning 37-35, in a game Gundy called the biggest in school history, and now the college football world is reacting to the Fighting Irish’s embarrassing collapse.
Mike Gundy just said "This is clearly the biggest win in the history of the school." #OkState

Fiesta Bowl: Twitter reacts to Notre Dame collapsing against Oklahoma State
Notre Dame has a long, proud tradition of falling short in major bowl games. Freeman and the Fighting Irish just happened to continue that.
at least it wasn't blowing a 28-3 lead, Notre Dame?

And with that, Notre Dame falls to 0-8 in BCS/NY6 bowls.

Of course, there’s no way Notre Dame fans will be thrilled after today. The game started so promising and ended so poorly for the Fighting Irish. There’s a lot to be hopeful for with Freeman as he takes over, but this game has to be a bummer.
I think Notre Dame's 0-10 streak in big bowls is impressive and really difficult to replicate

Oklahoma State trailed by as many as 21 points today against Notre Dame. With the win the Cowboys overcame the largest deficit in program history.

The previous record was 20 on Nov. 10, 1979 (at Colorado). pic.twitter.com/EoZrifG6q3
In his very first game, Marcus Freeman has proved without a doubt that he belongs as Notre Dame HC. He follows in the footsteps of his predecessors, and the Fighting Irish fall to 0-8 in BCS/NY6 bowls.

Of course, the folks in Oklahoma have a lot to be proud of. The Cowboys did an incredible job coming back and putting themselves in position to win. They left some points on the board, but Oklahoma State did a great job with that comeback.
Oklahoma (11 win) and Oklahoma State (12 win) seasons and both go out with bowl victories. CFB is (very) healthy in the Sooner State.

Who would’ve thought after that Missouri State opener OSU would rack up 12 wins, including Bedlam and a NY6 over a top 5 team? Incredible job by Gundy and co., who kept us on the edge of our seats almost every Saturday. Fiesta Bowl Champs! #okstate pic.twitter.com/aEYDD6a9eC
