Lee Corso made his Rose Bowl headgear pick between Ohio State and Utah poolside.

Only Lee Corso can make a College GameDay headgear pick look so cool by sitting poolside.

Fresh off correctly picking the Georgia Bulldogs to beat the Michigan Wolverines in the Orange Bowl on-site as part of the College Football Playoff, Corso opted to relax and make his Rose Bowl pick between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Utah Utes poolside to ring in the new year. Even though the Buckeyes have several key players opting out, Corso still channeled his inner Brutus.

Ohio State has more talent than Utah, but the question remains how badly do the Buckeyes want to be in Pasadena.

Lee Corso picks Ohio State to win Rose Bowl over Utah with headgear selection

Corso’s ESPN colleague Kirk Herbstreit went on a little tirade earlier in the day about key players like Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson opting out of The Granddaddy of Them All. It wasn’t a great look for the Ohio State alum who is calling the game, but ESPN should not have flown him across the country merely hours after calling the Orange Bowl in Miami. They did get it right with Corso.

While the two College Football Playoff games were not compelling, Michigan State and Pitt did go down to the wire in the Peach Bowl in the first New Year’s Six game. Oklahoma State and Notre Dame are duking it out in the Fiesta Bowl. So maybe the Rose Bowl lives up to the hype? The only thing that is for certain is this is arguably the biggest game in the history of Utah Utes football.

Maybe Kyle Whittingham’s team will Swoop in and rip a Rose Bowl victory away from Ohio State?
