Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup left Sunday’s loss with a knee injury and fans feared the worst. Unfortunately, that seems to be the reality.

Things went exceptionally poorly for the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday afternoon as a huge matchup against the Cardinals with big-time playoff implications resulted in a pretty ugly loss. To make things worse, though, they also lost a key weapon with the postseason looming.

Near the end of the first half, wide receiver Michael Gallup hauled in a touchdown pass from Dak Prescott on a gorgeous play from both players to make the score 10-7 and keep things close. After the play, though, Gallup stayed down on the turf holding his left knee and had to be helped off the field.

Almost immediately after he got out of the blue medical tent, Gallup was ruled out for the remainder of the game, a bad sign for the long-term prognosis.

Michael Gallup injury update: Cowboys WR out for season with torn ACL

As many fans likely feared, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones confirmed after the game that Gallup suffered a torn ACL and would be out for the rest of the season.

With Dallas having already locked up a playoff spot and just getting Gallup back from an early-season injury not too long ago, this was a brutal blow for the club and, more importantly, the player.

Michael Gallup injury: Cowboys WR depth chart

Gallup is the WR3 on the Cowboys depth chart at wide receiver behind Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb.

With the veteran out of the lineup, though, the offense will likely turn to Cedrick Wilson more heavily while we could also see more from the likes of Noah Brown moving forward as well. That being said, it was Wilson who stepped in and made big plays late against Arizona.
