Where did Aaron Rodgers go to college?
Packers QB Aaron Rodgers listed his school as Butte Community College during Sunday Night Football, prompting questions about where he went to college.
One of the fixtures of primetime games in the NFL is the lineup introductions featuring where each player went to school.
That can cause confusion when a player says something you definitely didn’t expect.
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers caused that confusion on Sunday Night Football when he said Butte Community College during his introduction.
So where exactly did Rodgers go to school?
Why does Aaron Rodgers say Butte Community College?
Rodgers wasn’t heavily recruited coming out of high school so he went to Butte CC for one year before he was recruited to play quarterback at Cal.
He gained national acclaim leading the Bears in 2003 and 2004. That’s where most football fans will remember him playing college ball.
The Butte thing isn’t new though. Rodgers has been shouting out the community college that gave him a chance for a long time during primetime games. He’s done it at least since 2014.
Thanks to his performance in Berkeley, the NFL came calling in 2005. The Packers drafted him No. 24 overall in the first round after a slide down the draft board.
Green Bay had Rodgers sit behind Brett Favre for three years. He took over as the starting quarterback in 2008 and he’s been leading the Packers ever since.
