Ahead of a must-win game against the Ravens, the Steelers will be without one of their best cornerbacks as Joe Haden is out with COVID.

For the Pittsburgh Steelers to make the playoffs, the first thing that they need to take care of is beating a division rival in the Ravens.

That’s no small task just from the jump, but now it’s going to be even more difficult as the vaunted defense will now be without one of their best cornerbacks.

Veteran defensive back Joe Haden tested positive for COVID-19 and will be out for Pittsburgh’s season finale in Baltimore.

That’s a huge blow for the team that needed to win as a road underdog and get plenty of help to make it into the postseason. For the Steelers to clinch the playoff spot, they would also need the lowly Jaguars to beat the Colts and for the Raiders-Chargers matchup to not end in a tie.

Steeler lose Joe Haden for Ravens game with COVID

Given that the 32-year-old Haden is in the final year of his current contract, as noted in the report, the win over Cleveland on Monday night could go down as his final game with Pittsburgh.

And now, he’ll miss out on another potential final game for the Steelers — one that is looking far more likely with each passing day. That, of course, is in relation to quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

With the emotions on display after what was potentially his final game at Heinz Field, it seems as if Big Ben will be playing his final game as the Steelers’ quarterback and perhaps in the NFL when he takes the field in Baltimore.

Unfortunately, not having Haden notably decreases the chances that his time in Pittsburgh ends with a victory.
