Some NFL head coaches have been fired and a few big-time jobs are now readily available.

And onto the NFL coaching carousel we go…

As it is every year, anywhere between five and eight head coaches get the ax sometime around Black Monday. A few franchises make the decision to move on from their head coach before the end of the season. Others needed to see entire season unfold before making a huge franchise-altering decision. While people getting fired stinks, opportunities exist for those who are prepared.

Here are the all the NFL head-coaching vacancies ranked from least desirable to the most coveted.

After the latest update, the head-coaching vacancies are the following: The Las Vegas Raiders, the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Denver Broncos, the Minnesota Vikings, the Chicago Bears, the Miami Dolphins, the New York Giants and the Houston Texans.

NFL offseason: Ranking all the head-coaching vacancies heading into 2022

The New York Giants have two top-10 picks, but that is pretty much it for them

The New York Giants used to be good, what the hell happened? This is a proud franchise steeped in tradition. It is the cornerstone team of the biggest professional sports league in the biggest city in America, yet the Giants continue to be the most unwatchable product on the NFL gridiron imaginable. They may have two picks inside of the top 10 of the 2022 NFL Draft, but they stink!

While someone will take this job believing ownership, that person could be in for a rude awakening when the New York media devours them alive. There are no building blocks to build around. Saquon Barkley needs to be traded for draft compensation in a total tear down. Daniel Jones is not the guy. Joe Judge might be gone, but the Giants are so far away from contending it is ridiculous.

The Houston Texans have Davis Mills and a top-three pick, but so much chaos

The Houston Texans took their sweet time coming to a decision that David Culley would be a one-and-done head coach. Even though he massively overachieved to get this disaster of a franchise to 4-13, they are still picking No. 3 overall in the upcoming draft. Davis Mills has some promise under center, but the unpolished passer out of Stanford has a ways to go towards being elite.

What really dings the Texans is the state of the front office, as well as ownership. They were nothing short of a tire fire in the final three quarters of the 2020 campaign. Houston was the butt of every offseason joke last year. Though Culley was not the long-term answer for them at head coach, deciding this late into the game he is one-and-done is why the Texans are the Texans.

Nothing the Giants or Texans have shown of late should make a quality candidate covet these jobs.
