The Denver Broncos are hoping to interview Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy for their head-coaching vacancy.

Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy could be the one to turn the division rival Denver Broncos around.

While Bieniemy can essentially pick and choose what NFL head-coaching gig he wants to take, one would think he would be near the top of the list to replace Vic Fangio in Denver. Bieniemy has been instrumental in the Chiefs having one of the most explosive offenses in football. Though Denver is a division rival, Bieniemy has a strong connection to the state from his Colorado days.

Bieniemy should end up with a head-coaching opportunity in this cycle, and here is why that job might very well be with Denver.

Denver Broncos plan to interview Eric Bieniemy for their head-coaching vacancy

Even though he has never worked for, or played for, the Broncos organization, he was drafted by the divisional rival Chargers out of Colorado, where he is seen as one of the greatest players in Buffaloes history. Not only that, but he has been with Kansas City during its greatest run in franchise history. Denver has not beaten the Chiefs since Peyton Manning was the quarterback.

Ultimately, Bieniemy will have his choice of head-coaching opportunities this cycle. One would think he would be a candidate to replace Matt Nagy in Chicago or potentially Mike Zimmer in Minnesota. He does have strong ties to the Vikings organization as a coach prior to coming to Kansas City. Denver may look elsewhere, but Bieniemy may be exactly what they are looking for.

If the Broncos want to finally beat the Chiefs, why not steal a key piece away from Kansas City?
