Oops: Georgia’s Nakobe Dean wore Alabama national champions hat
Georgia star linebacker Nakobe Dean seemed to grab the wrong hat as he was celebrating the Bulldogs’ first national championship since 1980.
At long last, the Georgia Bulldogs are national champions again. They waited over four decades to say that once again in Athens but, with a dominant 33-18 victory over Alabama — their white whale — Nakobe Dean and the vaunted UGA defense got to the mountaintop.
Naturally, it was a party on the field at Lucas Oil Stadium with all of the Bulldogs players soaking in the historic moment for the program and finally getting over the hump.
In the midst of the hullabaloo, though, Dean seemingly grabbed the wrong hat as he was seen wearing an Alabama national championship hat.
Georgia football: Nakobe Dean accidentally wears Alabama national championship hat
Either someone gave Dean the wrong hat or he was going for the ultimate troll job.
Personally, I hope it was actually a case of the latter.
Regardless of what hat he’s wearing, though, Dean and the Bulldogs should be celebrating for a long, long time. Waiting 41 years — especially for a program of this caliber — to win a national championship is quite a long time.
Subsequently, the celebration should be equally as long. Of course, the fans in Athens would prefer celebrating until they get another natty in the near future which, with the way Kirby Smart has built this program up, seems entirely possible.
