Sandy Alcantara – Starting Pitcher

It’s rumored that the Miami Marlins are looking at their options in trades for Elieser Hernández, Pablo Lopez and even Sandy Alcantara. The Marlins just signed Alcantara to a five-year extension.

However, there’s a trade that could make everyone happy here. The Yankees have a lot of players who can help the Marlins team win now, or in the near future. They have players that can fit into the Marlins current team while also giving them a future worth getting excited for.

Alcantara would be a legit second option for the Yankees. When Taillon comes back, and if Severino can bounce back (that’s a big if), the Yankees would have a supreme rotation that could legitimately win a World Series. That’s still the goal, right?

On top of that, Alcantara’s contract is ideal. He’s only 26 years old, and he doesn’t make $10 million for three more years. Then, he gets $17 million in 2025 and 2026. If he becomes an ace-level starter, then it’s one of the better deals in the league. If he falls apart, then it’s not that big of a hit for a Yankees team that prints money.

The risk is worth the reward here for the Yankees.
