The Georgia football team will need to hit the transfer portal to shore up its roster for a national title defense next year.

While Georgia football fans are on cloud nine after seeing the Dawgs win their first national championship in 41 years, next season will be here before you know it.

Though repeating is so incredibly hard, Georgia has the talent to potentially do that in 2022. However, there will be a few players here and there that could help complement the roster by way of the transfer portal. Georgia had a huge pickup by way of the portal last year with starting cornerback Derion Kendrick coming over from traditional southeastern rival Clemson. Who is next?

Here are three players the Dawgs could look to target in the transfer portal after winning it all.

Jaxson Dart entering the portal means Georgia is out of it for Caleb Williams

Unless Stetson Bennett wants to come back for one more super-duper senior season, Georgia will have a new starting quarterback next season. It might be JT Daniels, but the former USC transfer could be looking to leave Athens after losing the job to “The Mailman” due to injury. Carson Beck is almost certainly transferring, but is Brock Vandagriff in position to start under center in 2021?

That is why Georgia should go after a quarterback in the transfer portal. While Caleb Williams was thought to be in the running for Georgia, that does not seem to be the case anymore, especially with Jaxson Dart hitting the portal out of USC. It might be Daniels all over again, but Georgia could use a stop-gap starter for 2021 if the Dawgs believe they can win the Arch Manning sweepstakes.

Dart may end up staying out on the West Coast, but Georgia will definitely have interest in him.
