Pittsburgh Steelers have thanked the Las Vegas Raiders and kicker Daniel Carlson in a big way for helping the team get to the playoffs.

Sunday was a rollercoaster of emotions for the Pittsburgh Steelers fanbase. After the Jaguars beat the Colts, all that needed to happen was a tie not to be recorded between the Raiders and Chargers.

In dramatic fashion, the two teams went to overtime and it looked like the Raiders hearts would be broken. Instead, Daniel Carlson kicked the game-winning field goal as time expired. Now, Steelers fans are racing to donate to Carlson’s charity as a thank you.

This is priceless. It truly felt like this matchup was going to end in a tie, which would have knocked Pittsburgh out of the postseason hunt. On top of that, it (most likely) would have ended the career of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

Instead, Carlson, with ice in his veins, drilled the field goal. The Raiders moved on, and the Chargers were the ones who ended up getting knocked out. As soon as the ball sailed right through the uprights, parties were thrown all over Pittsburgh.

Carlson saved the day for thousands. Now, folks in the Steel City are finding the different charities he’s been involved with and making their donations. At the end of the day, everybody wins here – other than the Chargers of course.

Come this weekend, the Steelers will be taking on the Chiefs, while the Raiders will head to Cincinnati to try and take down the Bengals. Regardless of what happens, Steelers supporters will forever being indebted for what Carlson was able to get done in Week 18.
