Russell Wilson wants to “explore his options” this offseason
The latest update from Ian Rapoport on quarterback Russell Wilson isn’t going to make Seattle Seahawks fans happy at all.
Here we go again for the Seattle Seahawks. While folks all over the Pacific Northwest were hoping that there’d be no issues with Russell Wilson this offseason, things are already off and running for the star signal-caller.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Wilson is planning to ‘explore his options’ leading up to the 2022 campaign. What the hell does that mean? Well, it means Wilson isn’t locked in with suiting up for the Hawks moving forward.
Russell Wilson very well could be on his way out of Seattle this offseason
This feels like the same old song from last year between Wilson and the Seahawks. Before training camp got underway, people thought that Wilson was going to be on his way out of the Emerald City to suit up for a new team.
He ended up staying, but Seattle went 7-10 this campaign and missed out on the postseason. While previous reports had indicated that Seattle has no intentions of trading Wilson in the near future, the latest report from Rapoport could change things.
Wilson has made it known that he wants to compete for more Super Bowls and he even said that he wants to do that in Seattle. Now, however, Rapoport’s sources are telling him that Wilson wants to see if he could have a better chance at accomplishing that goal elsewhere.
A quick look at social media shows the Seahawks faithful growing frustrated with this. If Wilson really was set on staying in Seattle to try and win more titles, why would this story have been leaked by his camp? Unfortunately for those in the 206, it doesn’t look like this Wilson saga is going to end soon.
