One question for Daniels is how being closer to home will impact his transfer decision. He’s gone both ways on that front. He stayed in Los Angeles when he signed with USC out of high school. He showed willingness to head to the other side of the country when he transferred to Georgia.

If he wants to come back west his options are somewhat limited. The Pac-12 that would have been ideal for him largely have their quarterback situations settled. ASU and UCLA are bringing back potential draft entrants Jayden Daniels and Dorian Thompson-Robinson. Utah, Stanford, Oregon State and Colorado also have established quarterbacks returning. Oregon looks all-in on Ty Thompson. Cal, Arizona, Washington and Washington State have added quarterbacks via transfer. USC warrants its own discussion.

So where could Daniels truly land if he’s interested in the Pac-12?

Despite the fact that Cal just added Purdue transfer Jack Plummer, the Golden Bears would make a lot of sense for Daniels.

He could come back to California and play under offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave, who has almost two decades of coaching experience in the NFL.
