3. De’Aaron Fox — Sacramento Kings

The Sacramento Kings are just a mess. We’ve gone over that aspect of this already in the Buddy Hield slide. However, trading Hield, who’s had his chances to grow as a star, and trading De’Aaron Fox are much, much different. Fox has an immense upside, and he could soon become one of the better players in the league. Hield doesn’t have that upside.

We would love to see Fox play with a great coach. That seems to be the mental block that’s keeping him from superstardom. He doesn’t have a consistent role with the Kings, and that’s forcing him to adjust to what he’s being asked to do. He should be treated like a scorer, while someone else on the court needs to get him the ball in space. That’s not really his role on the Kings because he is still their best facilitator.

Fox could go to a number of teams and play very, very well. He’s not necessarily matchup or chemistry proof like some other superstars, but most situations away from Sacramento would bring out the best of his abilities.

For the best of NBA fans, Fox should be traded. There are a few players who are turning into stars. Ja Morant is tops among them. There are other players who are close, but Fox is someone to keep an eye on based on where he goes. He has so much upside, that one right move, and he rockets to a new stratosphere.
