Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh does squats in slacks while on recruiting trip.

It’s always leg day for Michigan football head coach Jim Harbaugh.

While the football world awaits Harbaugh’s decision to either stay at Michigan or go back to the NFL, here he is doing squats in slacks during a recruiting trip to Tampa. Given how difficult it is for coaches to hit the gym during the heart of recruiting season, Harbaugh made use of Jesuit High School’s weight room to be sure he did not skip leg day. Never skip leg day because people notice.

No, this is not the first time Harbaugh has gone viral while on the recruiting trails, nor will it be the last. It just part of his quirky personality to do things like this to get a star recruit or two’s attention. The only way this stops is if Harbaugh goes back to the NFL. While these funny viral moments may go to the wayside, at least Harbaugh will have an NFL weight room to get his lift in.

Given how great of a season Michigan is coming off of, look for Harbaugh and his staff to harness as much of this positive momentum when it comes to recruitment. Michigan has shown it can win the Big Ten and reach the College Football Playoff. The question remains if this one a one-off sort of thing. Does Michigan have the power to beat Ohio State regularly and get back to Indianapolis?

It starts with having a good foundation, which comes from putting in the work at the squat rack.
