Manchester United: Was Edinson Cavani offside?
By Mark Powell
VAR confirmed that Manchester United star Edinson Cavani wasn’t offside before his game-winning assist on Marcus Rashford’s goal.
Cavani and Rashford teamed up to put Manchester United in the Premier League’s top-4 with a victory over West Ham. While the broadcast view appeared to show that Cavani had a step on the West Ham defender, thus making the play offside, the on-field angle confirmed the opposite.
Rashford was on the other end of an excellent Cavani cross that sent Old Trafford into a complete frenzy, as the game-winning goal came in stoppage time.
A simple tap-in fro Rashford, the longtime Man U attacker, was enough.
