Trevor Story

Trevor Story has been a long-desired target of many teams looking to improve at shortstop.

In six seasons, Story has hit .272/.340/.523 with a +112 wRC. He has 158 homers, 180 doubles, 27 triples, 450 RBI, and 100 stolen bases. For his career, he has 69 defensive runs saved and a fielding percentage of .979.

It is a bit surprising he wasn’t picked up prior to the lockout. Nolan Arenado’s success with the St. Louis Cardinals is promising for teams concerned Story’s results may be due to the climate in Denver at Coors Field.

While Correa is expected to be the big prize at shortstop, Story should be getting equal if not more attention. Story was a 4.2 WAR player in 2021 with a career 26.7 WAR. He has incredible athletic abilities and would be a tremendous asset to the many clubs looking to improve at shortstop.

Once a new collective bargaining agreement is reached, Story should be nabbed up quickly.
