Aaron Rodgers toe injury is still impacting him weeks later, but the Packers finally got some good news heading into the divisional round.

Rodgers has yet to defeat the San Francisco 49ers — the team that infamously passed on him in the 2005 NFL Draft for Alex Smith — in the postseason. He can deliver that vital blow in front of thousands at Lambeau Field on Saturday.

But Rodgers’ has his own issues to worry about. The Cal product hasn’t been shy about discussing everything but football in the days leading up to the game, though he did give a hint as to how his toe is feeling. Rodgers injured his toe in Week 9, and it’s been bothering him ever since. The Packers quarterback never considered surgery, and instead played through the ailment for the remainder of the regular season.

Aaron Rodgers toe injury finally healed

Rodgers’ toe is fine now, as the man said himself to NFL Network’s Kay Adams. He even went as far as to show Adams his sock, suggesting that the toe was as close to healed as it’ll get during the season.

The only way to heal such an issue is time, and Rodgers doesn’t have much of that on his side until after the playoffs end. By then, he hopes to have secured his second Lombardi trophy.

In the interview with Adams, Rodgers admitted he’s been far more open this season than the past. He’s tired of letting others develop his narrative.

“For a long time, I think I was a little bit more of an enigma because I was quiet about my personal life,” Rodgers said. “At some point, enough is enough. I’m going to use my platform to speak more candidly and set the record straight on things that need to be straightened out. It’s caring about the things that are important and my narrative is important.”

He has a chance to do that and more on Saturday.
