Kansas City Chiefs standout Mecole Hardman is not a fan of former Georgia wide receiver Jermaine Burton transferring in-conference from his beloved alma mater to rival Alabama.

Mecole Hardman of the Kansas City Chiefs has spoken and he is not down with former Georgia wide receiver Jermaine Burton transferring to the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Before helping the Chiefs contend for Super Bowls, Hardman starred collegiately at the University of Georgia. Though he did not get to win the College Football Playoff during his time in Athens, Hardman is forever a Dawg. As for Burton, he turned heel after entering the transfer portal. Many people thought he would go to Ole Miss or head back to California, but to Alabama? Oh, come on!

Here is what Hardman shared on Instagram about Burton’s decision to suit up for the Evil Empire.

Kansas City Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman rips Jermaine Burton for going to Bama

While college football fans should learn to accept more and more players entering the transfer portal and wishing them the best of luck elsewhere, it is still very difficult to stomach seeing a player switch allegiances and suit up for a conference rival. While Alabama and Georgia do not play annually, these are the two preeminent SEC programs and winners of the last two national titles.

Ultimately, this really comes down to if Burton can handle the smoke that comes from this decision. If he can become the next star Alabama wide receiver, then more power to him. Do keep in mind that freshmen wide receivers like Ladd McConkey and Adonai Mitchell had more catches than him last year. Let’s also not overlook that Brock Bowers should have won the Mackey…

Look for Burton to be the focal point of Georgia’s defensive backfield should they meet again.
