Chicago Bears hire Chiefs’ Assistant Director of Player Personnel Ryan Poles as new general manager
The Chicago Bears have reportedly found their new general manager, with Chiefs executive Ryan Poles landing the job.
For the Chicago Bears, the search for Ryan Pace’s replacement has officially come to a close. After another rough season for the team, ending without a trip to the postseason, Pace was fired from his role as general manager.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Bears have decided to go with Kansas City Chiefs Assistant Director of Player Personnel Ryan Poles for the role.

If Poles’ name sounds familiar to Bears fans, he actually signed with the team as an undrafted free agent out of Boston College in 2008. His playing days never took off, but Poles really made a name for himself off the field.
Poles joined the Kansas City front office in 2009 as a player personnel assistant. He’s continued to work his way up, ultimately being named Assistant Director of Player Personnel in 2018.
Poles, 36, will now be tasked with trying to get Chicago back on the right track. His first major decision with the team will be finding a head coach to replace Matt Nagy. Jim Caldwell, Matt Eberflus and Dan Quinn appear to be the finalists for the position. With that said, Caldwell very well could be the one who lands the gig.
For Chicago Bears fans, they’re sick and tired of this team struggling, while the Green Bay Packers have continued to be the class of the division. Poles is a young, rising star in the league, and the organization is hopeful he can provide some much-needed energy to the organization.
