Georgia football fans can rest easy knowing that Kearis Jackson will be back for 2022.

The Georgia football team will be getting back one of its better receivers in 2022, as Kearis Jackson announced his decision to return to Athens for one more year.

Jackson was part of Georgia’s 2018 recruiting class. After playing sparingly his first two years in Athens, Jackson saw his raw increase during the 2020 and 2021 college seasons. The former four-star recruit from Fort Valley could have turned pro this offseason, but elected to run it back one more time for the Georgia faithful. He will be there for the Dawgs’ national title defense.

Here is Jackson’s official tweet on Tuesday saying that he will be coming back to the Classic City.

Georgia football star Kearis Jackson will be returning for the 2022 season

While Jackson was not as big of a part of the Georgia receiving game this past year as he was in 2020, he managed to play in a career-high 14 games for the Dawgs and contributed significantly on special teams. With George Pickens turning pro and Jermaine Burton transferring to Alabama, there are balls to be had on the Georgia receiving corps for someone like Jackson to capitalize on.

In four seasons with the Dawgs, Jackson has 61 total touches for 840 yards and four touchdowns. Though there are other productive pass-catchers on this Georgia team, Jackson provides a great veteran leadership presence that will help the 2022 Dawgs try to repeat as national champions. If he has his health and plays well, this could do wonders for Jackson’s overall 2023 NFL Draft stock.

Georgia was expected to lose a ton to the 2022 NFL Draft, but getting back Jackson is a huge plus.
