Despite interviewing for head coaching positions, it’s looking like Kellen Moore will be staying with the Dallas Cowboys.

Everyone assumed that Kellen Moore was going to be on his way out from the Dallas Cowboys this offseason. For a while now, Moore has been eyeing a head coaching gig and he’s been interviewing for jobs in recent weeks.

However, it doesn’t look like he’s going to end up making the jump. According to Dallas insider Mike Fisher, the expectation is now that Moore won’t get an offer and he’ll return to the Cowboys as the team’s offensive coordinator.

Dallas Cowboys OC Kellen Moore isn’t expected to leave the team

This winter, Moore had interviewed with the Dolphins, Jaguars, Vikings and Broncos for their openings. According to Fisher’s sources, Moore impressed during those interviews, but he wasn’t able to do enough to send things over the top with the four organizations who were eyeing him.

While this might be a disappointment for Moore, Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy is surely happy knowing that he won’t have to hire a replacement for him. With that said, there’s going to be plenty of pressure on both Moore and McCarthy next season.

Dallas was able to win the NFC East this year which was nice, but the team blew it in the Wild Card Round and suffered an upset loss to the San Francisco 49ers at AT&T Field. From that moment, fans have been furious with McCarthy, calling for him to be fired by Jerry Jones.

The team and offense in particular will hope to bounce back next season. As things stand, it will be on Moore to help Dak Prescott and Co. be more consistent in 2022 and hopefully go on a deep playoff run.
