25 best NFL running backs of the 21st century
After a tough final season at the collegiate level at the University of Tennessee, Arian Foster saw his draft stock plummet, leading to him being undrafted in 2009. The Houston Texans gave him an opportunity to make the football team during the summer months, and he took advantage of his opportunities, making the roster, and setting the stage for what would be a successful career with the franchise.
Foster did not take over as the feature back in Houston until his second season, but he exploded onto the scene, averaging 100 yards per game. He would be named a first-team All-Pro that first season as the starter, leading the NFL with 1,616 yards rushing as well as 16 rushing touchdowns. In his first three seasons with Houston, he racked up 41 touchdowns alone.
With Foster as the main back, and one of the best overall players in the game, the Texans became a playoff team, and in that time, he set numerous franchise records. Foster finished his career with over 6,500 yards and 54 touchdowns, and while he may not have the kind of numbers some of these other backs listed have when he was healthy, there was no doubt that he was the elite of the elite.
Take one of your signature Namaste bows Arian, you are one of the top running backs we have seen since the turn of the century.
