The Kansas City Chiefs may have benefitted from the refs refusing to throw a flag as Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow threw a pick.

An interception is the perfect way to get some momentum back in a football game. The Kansas City Chiefs seemed to be the beneficiary of a bad throw from Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, which momentarily paused an impressive Cincinnati comeback.

But, it looks like the Chiefs may have also benefitted from a missed call or two on that interception play. It appears as if fairly obvious offsides penalty right up on Kansas City’s defensive line was totally missed.

Check the video out for yourself.

And yeah, it looks like there was some pretty blatant offsides happening right there on Kansas City’s defensive line. Missing that is pretty bad, but according to some folks on Twitter, the refs may have made an equally egregious error in missing a hold on Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase.

AFC Championship Game: Did refs miss two calls against Kansas City Chiefs as Joe Burrow was picked off?

The alleged offsides is something that many seem to agree on. The video evidence is pretty clear on that one.

But the botched holding call is something that seems be an allegation that a relatively smaller group is making.

At the end of the day, the interception probably doesn’t mean all that much. Kansas City wasn’t able to do anything at all with the possession and ultimately ended up punting away the ball back to the Bengals. Cincinnati has since moved down the field on a fairly successful drive. The Bengals were able to take a 24-21 lead over Kansas City thanks to a field goal.

But, the perception of the Chiefs possibly getting some extra help from the refs in a game that is this big is something that won’t sit well with many.
