Rams Super Bowl appearances
By Scott Rogust
The Los Angeles Rams have the chance to clinch a spot in Super Bowl 56. Here is how many times they have reached the big game.
The Los Angeles Rams are now one win away from reaching Super Bowl 56, which just so happens to be at their home — SoFi Stadium. Los Angeles cruised to a 34-11 win over the rival Arizona Cardinals in the Wild Card Round before defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 30-27, despite blowing a 27-3 lead. Now, they return home to face the rival San Francisco 49ers, who defeated them in Week 18 to clinch a playoff berth, in the NFC Championship Game.
With the Lombardi Trophy in their sights, here is how many times the Rams have played in the Super Bowl in their franchise’s history.
Rams Super Bowl appearances
In their time between Los Angeles and St. Louis, the Rams have played in the Super Bowl four times. Here are the results for each game:
- Super Bowl 14: Pittsburgh Steelers defeat Los Angeles 31-19
- Super Bowl 34: St. Louis defeats Tennessee Titans 23-16
- Super Bowl 36: New England Patriots defeat St. Louis 20-17
- Super Bowl 53: New England defeats Los Angeles 13-3
The Rams’ lone win was back in Super Bowl 34, but it came after Titans wide receiver Kevin Dyson fell one yard short of scoring the game-winning touchdown on the final play of the game. But, the Rams hold a cumulative record of 1-3. Their last appearance came back in 2018, which just so happened to be the lowest-scoring Super Bowl in history against the Patriots.
If Los Angeles is to defeat San Francisco, they will now be the second team in NFL history to play in the Super Bowl in their home stadium. They will then face the winner of the AFC Championship Game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals.
