Did Allen Robinson just take a shot at the Bears on Twitter?

As former Chicago Bears wide receiver Allen Robinson enters into free agency, it sure seems like he’s upset with the Bears.

The Chicago Bears aren’t exactly a super well-functioning NFL franchise. They’re pretty messy and complicated and shortsighted at times. And, well, that can cause issues with some players. Especially talented ones like Allen Robinson.

Robinson, a very productive wide receiver who is heading into free agency after four seasons with the Bears, was someone Chicago could have done more to make sure he was around in the future. A few days ago, Robinson revealed Matt Nagy, then the Bears head coach, didn’t meet with him following the conclusion of the 2020 season.

The situation apparently led to Robinson feeling like the team was moving on from him, which isn’t exactly ideal. Chicago ultimately made it possible to keep Robinson around for another year, but now it looks like Robinson might be looking to move on himself.

In a Tweet, Robinson seems less than thrilled and addresses how he plans to “live and learn,” which doesn’t seem to bode well for the Bears

Chicago Bears: Allen Robinson seems frustrated with Bears

It’s possible he’s talking about something else.

For example, maybe Robinson had a bad experience at a sushi restaurant or maybe he streamed a podcast that was really annoying to listen to. Did he get a flat tire and have a bad experience trying to get a new one because of a global supply chain issue?

Or maybe he’s talking about how he’s mad at the folks running the Bears and how he’d like to live and learn and get a lesson and leave Chicago.

That seems like a pretty strong possibility.

It’s not totally clear exactly what Robinson is referring to, but there’s some important context surrounding all of this. Given how well he performed for the Bears, the recent interview he did with Steve Smith Sr., and the opportunity Chicago had to give him a long-term contract and then whiffed on, it seems likely he might be a little upset with the Bears.
