Former Oklahoma quarterback Caleb Williams is choosing between two schools for his upcoming transfer decision, according to a report.

The drawn-out wait for Caleb Williams to make a decision on his transfer destination should be coming to an end very soon.

The former Oklahoma quarterback who has reportedly been pursued by the likes of Georgia, Auburn, Ole Miss, UCLA and others is apparently down to just two choices.

Will it be USC or Wisconsin?

Caleb Williams will transfer to USC or Wisconsin

Williams has narrowed his options to the Trojans and Badgers, according to Gerry Hamilton of On3. A decision could come “as early as this week.”

The idea of Williams settling on a new school was echoed by Chris Hummer of 247Sports. However, he also reported that UCLA is “still in the mix” for the quarterback.

Fans who have been following this saga from the beginning know that “soon” is a relative term. Since Williams announced his entry into the transfer portal, speculation has suggested all sorts of timelines for his landing spot to be revealed. Nothing has come through yet.

There is uncertainty around Williams’ status for the spring semester at this point. USC’s deadline to enroll may have already passed and Wisconsin’s is coming up, though it’s not clear what kind of special circumstances could be carved out for a quarterback like Williams. The Bruins are on a quarter system and have the advantage of time on their side.

The Trojans were always the favorite to land Williams after Lincoln Riley left Oklahoma for Los Angeles. Wisconsin emerged later with an apparent tie between Williams and his family with new Badgers offensive coordinator Bobby Engram, whose son plays for Wisconsin and was high school teammates with Williams.
