Best Alabama football players under Nick Saban: 8. Najee Harris

Running back is where Alabama butters its bread. Every season, they seem to have another superstar. Najee Harris was no different. He was one of the most dynamic runners in the game. He had the agility of a wide receiver in a 229-pound body. He could run someone over or juke them out of their shoes. He did it early and often, as well.

Harris is one of the rare talents to play all four years at Alabama. He had a chance to go to the NFL Draft in 2020, but he decided to return for his senior season under Saban. He was even better and worked his way to a first-round selection. He rushed for more than 1,400 yards and caught 43 balls for more than 400 yards through the air. He totaled an eye-popping 30 touchdowns in his final year.

In his final two years combined, Harris scored 50 touchdowns. It’s just an impossible number showing just how dominant Harris was for some of the most recent Alabama teams. He made life incredibly easy for Mac Jones and Tua Tagovailoa. Opposing teams knew the Crimson Tide was going with Harris, and they still couldn’t stop him.

Harris has a ton of Alabama records. He’s the all-time leading rusher. He has more touchdowns than anyone. Harris is a superstar on every level, and he had one of the great Alabama careers in history.
