Yankees fans will love leaked MLB The Show 22 Deluxe Edition cover

The MLB the Show 22 Deluxe Edition cover has been leaked, and New York Yankees fans will love it.

Even though there is a lockout, that does not mean MLB is going to be prevented from making video game news. On Monday, Jan. 31, it was officially revealed that Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani as the MLB The Show 22 cover athlete. But as for the Deluxe Edition of the game, there will be a New York Yankees legend gracing the cover.

Nintendo had the Deluxe Edition available for pre-order and it featured the image of former Yankees shortstop and current Miami Marlins CEO Derek Jeter.

Yankees legend Derek Jeter will grace the cover of MLB The Show 22 Deluxe Edition

That is certainly a smart decision because it will no doubt get tons of Yankees fans to pre-order the game.

As the Talkin’ Yanks Twitter account mentions in their tweet, the announcement of Jeter will be on the cover of MLB The Show 22 will take place on Feb. 2, 2022.

Jeter spent his entire 20-year career with the Yankees and became a franchise legend. He made it to the All-Star Game 14-times, won the Silver Slugger and Gold Glove five teams each and helped the team win five World Series titles. Following his retirement, Jeter was inducted in the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2020, his first year on the ballot.

Overall, Jeter recorded 260 home runs, 1,311 RBI, 1,923 runs and 3,465 hits on a .310 batting average.

MLB The Show 22 will be released on April 5. The game will be $59.99 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The next-generation version for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will cost $69.99.
