Alabama defensive coordinator Pete Golding arrested for DUI
Some unfortunate news has come in for Nick Saban, as his defensive coordinator at Alabama has been arrested for DUI.
This isn’t the offseason news that Alabama and Nick Saban were hoping for, especially after all the excitement from Wednesday’s National Signing Day. That’s because defensive coordinator Pete Golding is in some trouble with the law.
According to Al.com’s Michael Casagrande, Golding was arrested early Thursday morning for DUI. Per Casagrande, Golding was arrested at around 1 a.m. ET and he remains in Tuscaloosa County Jail as of this writing.

Alabama has yet to comment publicly on the arrest
Golding arrived in Tuscaloosa in 2018 and then was promoted to defensive coordinator the following season.
With Golding manning the defense, Alabama has gone to the National Championship the past two seasons, winning it all last year, but losing to Georgia this season.
Saban, Golding and the rest of the staff had been hard at work on the recruiting trail following that loss, trying to land some of the biggest names still out there leading up to Signing Day.
Alabama currently holds 25 members for 2022, owning the No. 2 class in the country according to 247Sports. The Crimson Tide are only behind Texas A&M in the rankings.
