Jim Harbaugh was pure class after not getting the Minnesota Vikings head-coaching job.

As Jim Harbaugh returned to the Michigan football program program after not getting the Minnesota Vikings gig, he had a classy message about the direction the first-class organization is heading in.

Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press shared a text message he received from the Michigan head coach after returning to Ann Arbor after Wednesday’s job interview was wrapped up.

“The Wilf family and organization are first class all the way and in every way and Kwesi (Adofo-Mensah) is a shining star! The team is poised for greatness.”

A big reason Harbaugh was a candidate for the Vikings job was his previous working relationship with the new Minnesota general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah from their time together with the San Francisco 49ers organization. Adofo-Mensah came from the Cleveland Browns and will hire Los Angeles Rams offensive coordinator Kevin O’Connell to become the team’s next head coach.

Jim Harbaugh has classy message about Minnesota Vikings organization

Harbaugh has insisted he is not pursuing another NFL job after returning to Michigan for an eighth season at the helm. The itch to compete for a Super Bowl may always be there for him, but Michigan is a place where he can win Big Ten Championships and now contend for national titles. Michigan is coming off its first trip to the College Football Playoff and its best season in decades.

Had Harbaugh been hired as the next head coach of the Vikings, there is no doubt that he would have been successful. While he would have had to bide time before Aaron Rodgers left the division, Harbaugh would further elevate the play of starting quarterback Kirk Cousins. Of course, there would have been immense pressure on him to win. It may have only been a four-year run.

For now, Harbaugh returns to Ann Arbor looking to build off a tremendous 2021 college season.
