2022 NFL Mock Draft: Malik Willis is first QB off the board
By Brad Weiss
Very much so a Cinderella Story this season, the Cincinnati Bengals are going back to the Super Bowl for the first time since Boomer Esiason was their quarterback. There have been so many lows since the Bengals lost to San Francisco back then, but they have a savior in Joe Burrow, who has raised this franchise out of the cellar of the AFC North.
Now, they look to finish the deal, but no matter what happens, they will be picking at the bottom of the first round, and need to bolster the offensive line. Joe Burrow takes way too many hits, and in Zion Johnson from Boston College, they get a mauler who can help them on the inside or out moving forward.
Rounding out our first round is the Detroit Lions, and while you may wonder why, it is because they got this pick from the Los Angeles Rams in the Matthew Stafford trade. In his first season in Los Angeles, Stafford has led his team to the Super Bowl, which showed that all he needed to do was escape the Motor City to win in the NFL.
To close out the first round, the Lions decide to get a weapon for Jared Goff, adding USC standout wide receiver Drake London. This kid is big, fast, and strong, and would be an excellent complement to Amon-Ra St. Brown going forward for this offense.
