Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur spoke about Aaron Rodgers potentially leaving the team this offseason.

The Green Bay Packers are entering another offseason, wondering what will happen with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Although he did return from a holdout last year, the Packers clinched the best record in the league, but lost 13-10 in the Divisional Round against the San Francisco 49ers. After the game, Rodgers said he would take some time to make a decision regarding his playing career.

At the 2022 NFL Honors ceremony, head coach Matt LaFleur was asked on NFL Network about Rodgers’ status, to which he responded that there were no updates.

Packers: Matt LaFleur says there’s no update on Aaron Rodgers

Even though LaFleur said there was no update, he did express that he everyone in Green Bay would like to see him retire as a Packer.

Of course, the decision is all on Rodgers. He can choose to stay in Green Bay or decide to play elsewhere in the NFL. There is the possibility that he can choose to retire from the NFL altogether. His status is going to be monitored heavily throughout the offseason, especially once Super Bowl LVI concludes.

Rodgers is coming off a 2021 season where he threw for 4,115 yards, 37 touchdowns and four interceptions. He did lead the league in touchdown percentage (7.0), interception percentage (0.8), quarterback rating (111.9) and adjusted net yards per attempt (8.00). Those stats come courtesy of Pro Football Reference.

Whatever happens, Packers fans are going to be anxiously looking for updates. When it comes to the NFL Honors, LaFleur has no update on Rodgers.
