With NFL free agency coming soon, here’s a look at some quality running backs who should receive plenty of attention.

While many of you out there might be focused on the 2022 NFL Draft, there’s going to be plenty of intrigue in free agency when things open up on March 16. At running back, there’s several guys who will be looking for new homes.

Those same players are sure to draw plenty of attention, with the list of top targets including Leonard Fournette, James Conner and others. So, which running backs will be primetime targets in about a month?

5. Melvin Gordon

A two-time Pro Bowler, running back Melvin Gordon is out of contract with the Denver Broncos and the expectation is that there won’t be a reunion between the two sides. This is terrific news for other teams out there.

Gordon may not be the same kind of back he was back with the Chargers, but he’s still got game-changing abilities. The past two years with the Broncos, he rushed for 986 yards and 918 yards, respectively. He also totaled 17 touchdowns.

Gordon has also been pretty durable the past two seasons, playing in 31 games. Gordon is still only 28 years old too. His best football may be behind him, but again, he’s been a reliable running back the past two years with Denver and he can most definitely make a difference for an offense.
