The Los Angeles Rams have become famous for their lack of draft picks and it looks like it’s all worked out for Les Snead and his team.

Les Snead and the Los Angeles Rams don’t need no stinkin’ draft picks. Well, they probably don’t. At least they don’t right now.

The Rams have been famous for trading away a multitude of draft picks to help land some big stars and, as a result, Los Angeles just won the Super Bowl. There’s a lot to celebrate and Snead, the Rams’ General Manager, made much of it happen with his willingness to give up some important draft capital.

Just check out the fun Snead had during the Rams Super Bowl parade:

That’s a man who is thrilled with all of his choices.

Los Angeles Rams Super Bowl parade: Les Snead sounds off on draft picks involved in multiple trades

There are a few different philosophies that go into building a team. Some decide to look at the big picture and hold on to draft capital to assemble a great team over time. Sometimes that works!. Other teams make the choice to trade away their future to win right away, and sometimes that works.

In the case of the Rams, they gave up quite a bit to get Matthew Stafford moved from the Detroit Lions to Los Angeles and it definitely paid off. The Rams also ended up giving away some valuable 2022 draft picks to bring Von Miller over from the Denver Broncos.

There are some questions about how things will be later down the line. Will the Rams be able to sustain any sort of consistent success over time? Will they hit an inevitable rebuild period later down the line?

That’s an issue for another day.

Right now, Los Angeles gets to celebrate a championship. The Rams won the Super Bowl. The trade worked out well.
