With NFL free agency set to open up on March 16, there are multiple tight ends who will be drawing plenty of attention across the league.

There’s going to be plenty of intrigue in the NFL this spring, with some big names on the move in free agency. While quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers will draw a ton of attention, don’t forget about the tight ends either.

There are several pass-catchers who will be looking for new places to call home in the near future. The list of course includes Mike Gesicki, who has impressed during the past four seasons with the Miami Dolphins.

5 best tight ends in 2022 NFL free agency

5. Mike Gesicki

Gesicki has been a trustworthy target for Tua Tagovailoa and Miami in recent campaigns and his production on the field has been head-turning. In 2021, Gesicki posted a career-high 73 receptions for 780 yards.

The year before, the 6-foot-6, 245-pounder caught a career-best six touchdowns. With his size and speed, Gesicki has been a key figure for Miami’s offense ever since his rookie campaign in 2018.

Looking ahead to next season, though, it may be tough for Miami to bring him back. With him being an unrestricted free agent, he’s free to sign with anyone he pleases and he’s most definitely going to be getting calls next month.

On Twitter, fans are already calling for the Miami front office to try and get things done with Gesicki. Only time will tell if that happens, but those same people should prepare for him to sign elsewhere as well.
