NBA players trash awful 2022 Slam Dunk Contest on Twitter
The 2022 Slam Dunk Contest was a major letdown and NBA players let everyone know on Twitter how disappointed they were.
What in the world did everyone watch on Saturday night? For years, the NBA Slam Dunk Contest at All-Star Game weekend has provided fans across the world with some insane jams. Entering things for 2022, more of the same was expected.
However, that wasn’t the case whatsoever. While New York Knicks’ Obi Toppin was able to come away with a victory, people were incredibly upset with the event as a whole. This included some of the biggest NBA stars out there.
NBA superstars raced to Twitter to call out the NBA Slam Dunk Contest
If you thought people at home were angry with what was showcased inside of the arena, wait till you see some of the tweets from some NBA studs, both past and present.

It’s hard to argue with any of the comments made above. Whenever people tune into the Slam Dunk Contest, they expect some incredible moves to be showcased, not basic stuff you’d see in a high school gym.
In past years, we’ve seen incredible work, with guys like Zach LaVine, Aaron Gordon and others producing memorable dunks. If anything, NBA fans became spoiled with those kinds of acrobatics. Players like LaVine and Gordon set the bar high for future competitors.
When this year’s field was revealed and neither of the two were on the list, people were beyond bummed. They’re already calling for them to get back in primetime for this, while fans also wants Ja Morant to be in the mix as well. Saturday’s contest was one to forget for the NBA. People can only hope that next year’s is much, much better.
