Scouting Report. AFC. South. 2. player. Pick Analysis. Indianapolis Colts. 46

The Indianapolis Colts are in dire need of a No. 1 wide receiver this offseason

Though Michael Pittman Jr. offers a great deal of promise still on his rookie contract, T.Y. Hilton is not getting any younger. Plus, he too is a free agent. One team that could make some since for Smith-Schuster would have to be the Indianapolis Colts. This is a team that if it gets consistent quarterback play they could do some damage in the AFC landscape. For now, they are mid-tier.

This is a critical offseason for the Colts. They have not won the AFC South since 2014, as all three of their division rivals have won a division crown more recently than them. If they miss the playoffs, it may cost head coach Frank Reich his job. Given that he is an offensive-minded head coach, it would not be shocking to see the Colts load up on players that star on his side of the ball.

The defense may not skip a beat with Gus Bradley taking over for Matt Eberflus. However, if the Colts want to continue building on what they are doing, they have to win in 2022. The best thing they can do is get more explosive in the passing game. It may be a boom-or-bust signing, but Smith-Schuster could be a big reason the Colts overtake the Tennessee Titans in the AFC South.

If Smith-Schuster were to come to Indianapolis, that would signify Hilton is leaving the franchise.
