The expectation around the NFL is that Jimmy Garoppolo will be traded soon. So which teams should make a deal for the 49ers quarterback?

Jimmy Garoppolo is reportedly generating “significant interest” in trade discussions despite the fact he is scheduled to undergo shoulder surgery this offseason.

Adam Schefter reported that the surgery will keep Garoppolo out until this summer. However, the report also stated that the surgery is not expected to affect the quarterback’s trade market and the expectation, per the NFL insider’s sources, is that he will still be traded in the next month.

With that trade coming, these three NFL teams should consider a trade for the quarterback.

3. Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers are in a dire situation when it comes to the current quarterback position. At the moment Dwayne Haskins and Mason Rudolph are the two options. However, Pittsburgh is expected to draft a quarterback in April, having shown interest in Malik Willis dating back to the Senior Bowl in February. Mike Tomlin talked to Willis and his family during the event.

Willis is a raw talent who may need a year to sit. Trading for Garoppolo would allow the Liberty quarterback to sit and digest the NFL game from the sidelines.

At this point in his career, Garoppolo is most likely a bridge quarterback, and the Steelers are in a perfect situation for the 30-year-old quarterback. It would not be surprising if Pittsburgh trades for Garoppolo and drafts Willis.

With a top defense like the Steelers possess, all they need is a quarterback that can manage the game. Garoppolo could very well be that guy in Pittsburgh.
